Leon L. Haley Jr., MD, MHSA, FACEP, CPE is currently serves as CEO, UF Health Jacksonville, Vice-President for Health Affairs and Dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine –Jacksonville and Professor of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Haley received his BA from Brown University, his MD from the University of Pittsburgh and his MHSA from the University of Michigan. Dr. Haley completed his residency, including a year as Chief Resident, in Emergency Medicine at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Haley has interests and publications in health administration, operations and strategic management and diversity as it relates to healthcare and emergency medicine in particular. Dr. Haley has served on or chaired various hospital, university and national committees including the Board of Directors for the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and the Institute of Medicine’s Committee on Health Insurance Status.
Dr. Haley has been funded by the Department of Defense, SAMSA, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Healthcare Foundation of Georgia.
Dr. Haley is an active board member of the Essential Hospitals Institute, the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the Griffith Leadership Center at the University of Michigan.
