Currently serving as the Safety Net Hospital Alliance of Florida’s President. Mrs. Kennedy is a seasoned governmental relations consultant in Florida with a wide range of experience in areas from policy development to public finance to lobbying. She brings more than 27 years of government affairs experience in all levels of Florida’s government and private sector.
A veteran of Florida’s legislative process, Ms. Kennedy has served as a primary lobbyist for some of Florida’s most notable organizations. She has successfully lead strategic initiatives to pass legislation and obtain funding for Florida’s hospitals, children’s healthcare and child welfare organizations, as well as public health associations. She represented the state’s medical association of as both a lobbyist and as public health policy director. Ms. Kennedy’s portfolio is broad and includes the state’s public broadcasting corporation, as well as serving 4 years as the legislative director for Enterprise Florida, the state designated economic development agency.
Ms. Kennedy has further served as a private lobbyist representing such interests as pharmaceutical companies, physician associations, banks, and housing manufacturers. Ms. Kennedy also worked with the Florida House of Representatives as a staff member of its Committee on Regulatory Reform, providing analysis on issues relating to professional regulation.
Prior to joining Capitol Hill Group in 2001, Ms. Kennedy served as the legislative director for the Florida Department of Health (DOH) – a 13,000-employee, $4 billion agency. Ms. Kennedy’s tenure at DOH was notable in that she was chosen to serve as the top legislative aide to both Republican and Democratic administrations. A devoted wife and mother of three, she is dedicated to her church and community. Ms. Kennedy is a graduate of the Florida State University with a degree in political science.
